FUNDACIÓN ORTIZ GURDIÁN Breast and Cervical Cancer Clinic is a Nicaraguan-based non-profit. In 2010, working with Nicaraguan doctors, MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Austin Samaritans, and other donors, it built a clinic.
The clinic supports low-income women that do not have access to social security insurance coverage by providing empowerment, education on early detection of breast and cervical cancer, screening, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. Since 2010 the clinic has provided free screening for breast and cervical cancer for 45,000 women and treatment, as required. Austin Samaritans facilitated the addition of cervical cancer screening and treatment at the clinic and continues to provide significant financial support.
