EDUCATION

Education can be the key to lifting a child out of poverty and unlocking a world of potential, opportunity, and hope.

Especially in Nicaragua, a good educational foundation in a Christian environment can mean

  • Learning valuable life and social skills

  • Developing the skills and knowledge to obtain a good job

  • Experiencing encouragement, wise counsel, and direction from caring adults

  • Broadening one’s interests and vision for future possibilities

  • Being exposed to the Gospel and the personal love of Christ

Austin Samaritans partners with two Christian educational institutions to reach some of those most at risk. Colegio Cristiano Presbiteriano (CCP) provides quality instruction for economically disadvantaged students in Pre-Kindergarten through the 11th grade. Centro Educativo La Esperanza (Club Esperanza) provides classes for pre-kindergarten through the sixth grade. Older youth receive scholarships to attend high school, and they participate in a youth group. Meals (typically breakfast and lunch each school day) are also provided. These educational programs offer children not only knowledge and skills, but also love, encouragement, and hope.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you.And surely, I am with you always to the very end of the age.

Matthew 29:19-20
